I have a Sonos Port, with firmware updated to latest.

It is being used to play songs stored on a Synology NAS.

I use the Android version of the Sonos app; it is updated to latest.

Recently -- maybe with the last firmware update -- songs played from the local library have about a 50% probability of cutting off partway through playback, after which the music resumes at the next song in the playlist.

Wifi signal is consistently showing “Fair -- 35 dB”

Any thoughts?  Anybody else seeing this?  Is this a firmware problem, or could it be my own issue somehow?

Without hard data to look at, it’s hard to tell, but given you’re the only post I’ve seen complaining about this particular issue, I’d suspect it is local to something in your setup.

I’d be reading the wifi interference FAQ, and performing a network refresh by unplugging all Sonos devices from power, then rebooting your router. Give the router a couple of minutes to come back up before plugging in your Sonos. Alternately, setting up reserved IP addresses for your devices would do the same thing.

But if neither of those options work, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
