Sonos controller S2 not compatible with Android 10.0 tablet

I have Sonos Connect S2.   Everything worked fine with my old Android 8 tablet.   I have just bought a new (unbranded) Android 10.0 tablet and when I try to download Sonos from Play store I get "Your device isn't compatible with this version".   Any thoughts on how to fix this?

S2 works fine on all my Android 10 devices.

Are you sure the tablet is running regular Android? Did it come with the Google Play Store pre-installed?

Thanks for the reply - yes, Google Play Store pre-installed.   On further examination, it turns out that my new tablet is running Android 5 (Lollipop), so this is the problem!

Good grief. Android 5 hasn’t been supported by Google for years. If you have the option, return the tablet for a refund immediately.
