Sirius channels are misidentified in the app this morning. Ch73 60’s gold shows undefined Cincinnati Reds w the logo Channel 73 60’s Gold???  Other channels have the same misidentified issue pointing to other Sirius channels.

Display

That information would be coming from SiriusXM’s servers, sent to be displayed by your Sonos client. Have you contacted them?

SiriusXM support are notoriously ignorant of Sonos.  You usually need to escalate to a higher support level to get to someone who even knows what Sonos is, never mind knowing who is responsible for SiriusXM content on the Sonos app (Spoiler Alert:  SiriusXM is responsible).

Reddit forum shows others using android and echo show having the same display issue today.

There’s a pretty low chance that Sonos made any display changes to their controller, especially one that affects a single channel on a single streamer. There is a much higher chance that the streamer themselves, through an issue on their servers which use SMAPI to send data to a Sonos controller, are at fault. And given that many people are reporting the same issue, on various controllers, supports that theory. Especially the Echo Show, which is outside of the Sonos stream completely. The streamer is sending the incorrect data, not the receiving and displaying controllers.

This may explain/help…

I use SiriusXM in my car as well. Sirius made an announcement that some channels would be changing  call numbers. For example SiriusXM Watercolors changed from 66 to 68. I really haven’t bothered to look at SiriusXM call numbers in the app to see how they appear.

Same problem here. Updated all apps, and deleted and re-added Sirius. No luck. Here is just one example.

Yes, Sirius changed some channel numbers the other day. Hey Sonos, can someone from your support team reach out to Sirius and get this figured out please? Sirius says it is your issue, you say it is Sirius’s issue, meanwhile paying customers are experiencing this issue.

This community forum is just other users like yourself. If you would like to get Sonos support involved, I would suggest you call them directly: (Sonos Support). A sonos moderator my show up here from time to time, but that isn’t going to get your problem in front of the people that need to see it. If enough people call in about this, it will hopefully get the attention is deserves.

As far as I’m aware, Sonos displays the data that is sent by SiriusXM. While Sonos wrote the API for display, SiriusXM used that API to integrate with Sonos, and Sonos doesn’t modify/change any data sent by the SiriusXM servers, much like they don’t change data for any other streaming company that sends data via the API. You may want to refer to the Sonos partners page.

I’m pretty sure the best Sonos can do is tell SiriusXM they have to fix the data being sent. Since Sonos has no financial arrangement with SiriusXM, in either direction, the notification from an actual consumer who pays SiriusXM, to SiriusXM, would likely carry more weight.

This happens when SiriusXM changes channel numbers, codecs, encryption, etc.  Unfortunately, SiriusXM tends to ignore its SMAPI implementation, and instead worries about only the native app.  Sonos can’t do anything about it, and asking them to contact SiriusXM on your behalf is like asking Samsung to contact ABC because your soap operas were preempted by a breaking news announcement.  Sure Samsung could do that, but how effective are they going to be?

In my personal experience, going back to when Sonos first got Sirius, is to call up SiriusXM support and ignore anything the 1st level tech is saying.  Instead, ask to escalate until you get someone who knows what Sonos actually is.  The last time I used this method, the channel numbers were fixed within a day.

Same issue here.  Suggest you blast Sonos support to fix.  Also, all live channels are not listed from the Sonos app (mine stops at Tom Petty).

Read the thread.  Sonos support (or any other Sonos entity) couldn’t fix this if they wanted to.  It is wholly up to SiriusXM to fix their implementation.

Typo here: it is Sirius who ignore their SMAPI code...

Quite true.  Not even a typo.   More like I lost my train of thought.

The replies here amaze me. “Sonos can’t fix this”. Probably not, but they can help their customers by taking some action on their end. I work for a company that uses data feeds from multiple third party companies.  We call third party vendors all the time to let them know when the data they are pushing to us is not working or has issues because not only do we care about the quality of the product we are producing, but most importantly, because our customers deserve accurate data.

Sirius seems to have resolved the issue, fyi.

How do you know they haven’t taken action on their end?  And even if they have, what is so bad about users on a user forum informing other users that they should try lobbying the service themselves because they are the only ones who are capable of actually fixing the problem?

This is actually the bigger unaddressed issue now that the meta data issue has been resolved. I am in the same boat is I can't get my live channels to scroll past 31 in the app. They do appear in my library if they were saved. And on the Roams Alexa will play them when voice prompted. But on the App on both Android and iOS only lists channel 2-31 under live channels.

I have uninstalled Sonos, SiriusXM, removed the service, readded the service, cleared the cache and data, restarted speakers and even had the router replaced. All to no avail.

And I have a ticket open with Sonos with no ETA. Other than it's a "bug".

Yep.  I checked today and mine still lists only 2-31.  Luckily I know how to search for Chill and XMU.
