I set up the remote using the optical setting and set it up in the app. The remote works fine when I’m watching TV...if I start playing music through the app on my phone, the remote will only work for a short time after the TV is shut off….after that the only way to control the volume on my system is through the app on my phone. It’s almost like the TV remote system goes to sleep after the TV is shut down. Thoughts?

+18Just imagining how that would work. The remote is set to ir and will command Playbase directly. And still it will shut down after the TV is shut down? That does not seem logical to me.
Is it possible you set the TV to emit ir commands instead of letting the remote handle all ir commands? My Samsun can do that, in fact it is the TV that commands my set top box via ir. That would explain why the commands stop after turning off the TV.
