Using the S2 app on Win11, I don’t see any mechanism for doing basic care and feeding of my Sonos system. All I see is essentially a glorified music player.
In particular, I would like to control the balance, but cannot find a control to do that.

It is not even a music player - even for music it is just a remote for the system, that does all the work.
Can only talk about S1 but for that version
Manage > settings> EQ Settings > (select room)
For rooms that have a stereo pair a balance slider will appear.

The Sonos Desktop app had many features removed, several years ago.
My Windows app (see profile) lets you edit the balance, click the Music icon next to the volume control.
