Hi @Galilou, welcome to the Sonos Community and thank you for reaching out with your issue.
In the Sonos app, you can add a track, album, or playlist to the queue from almost anywhere you see it listed in the Sonos app. Once added, you can shuffle, set to repeat, or crossfade between songs. You can edit the queue, modifying the order of the tracks, or removing them. Your queue can also be saved as a Sonos playlist if you’d like to play it again later.
There's no limit in adding tracks to the queue, but there are limits on some music services playlist sizes, which varies by service.
I’d be happy to check a diagnostic report if you would like. Just include the confirmation number in your response so that we can look up the information.
We'll wait for your reply.
Tx, Rowena,
A few years ago (shortly after getting my Sonos) I stopped using Sonos playlists as I found them even more restrictive in the # of songs/ playlist. I don’t recall the max, but when I attempted to add a song or songs, I’d get a flag saying I’d reached the max. So, I moved to building playlists in Spotify. Now, in Sonos (on my tablet), I tap on Browse, Spotify, and Playlists. The max # of songs/Spotify playlist seems to be approx. 4K, in order for Sonos to play them. I tried exceeding 4K, but Sonos won’t accept them. Spotify appears to have no pbm with the # of songs/playlist, but it does me no good (beyond 4K) as my Sonos will not play them.
I’ve roughly 18K songs total so far (and still adding) in Spotify, that I’ve had to break up into playlists <4K each.
And I will do the diagnostic report after I hear back fm you.
Regards,
Lou (Galilou)
Hi @Galilou, thank you for your response and for providing the details of your concern.
Upon further checking on this, Sonos has playlist limitations.
- General 10k track limit (total for all playlists)
- Spotify: 6.75k (+/- depending on metadata)
This is why you can't go beyond 4K songs to add your playlist on the Sonos app from Spotify music service.
Hope this helps.
