How to connect to Sonos on old ipad?

Hi,

Have an old iPad that I would like to use the XM streaming app to play over my Sonos system. It works on my newer iphone and 3rd party app but because the iPad is so old the Sonos app refused to run on it and thus can not connect to the system with that iPad. Is there a manually way to get the iPad to recognize the system?

Thanks

Hi @davidm71

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

As you want to use the XM app, you don’t need the Sonos app on your iPad - just use AirPlay to connect to your Sonos device, then anything you play from the XM app will play through Sonos.

Stream AirPlay audio to Sonos

I hope this helps.

The Sonos app requirements are detailed here.

I’m not aware of any way to get the app to run if it does not meet the minimum requirements.

Does your old iPad have any available iOS updates?

Get SonoPad from the App Store. Runs on the most ancient of iPads.
