I reverted the app last time since I could not play my playlists on SoundCloud.   Does anyone know if recent changes fixed this?   If I cant use SoundCloud then all that money I spent on these 18 speakers was wasted.  That is 95% of the way  I use the app.  

Sonos have stated they don’t force updates.
 

If you turn off auto update on all components in your system, it will remain at the then current version. 
But

the system needs to stay in sync. If one element updates, the rest must also do so.
