After the fibre was installed I fought with the bunch of Symfonisks to get them working again and I’m mega reluctant to jeopardize that by fiddling around with it AT ALL. So. Has the situation changed and now these babies will work with S2, or no?

You do not specify which problems you’ve ran into, but Symfonisk should definitely work with S2. If you experience problems I suspect them to be network related, e.g if you have changed your router:
