I store my music files on my PC and when I view the music library by artist I have a lot of artist names with only one or two tracks each on a compilation. They are contributing artists.  I there a way I can change the library settings so that contributing artist is ignored.

Under the Music Library settings, do you have the “Use iTunes Compilations” setting available?

It doesn’t matter, it should still group together the artists from your compilation albums and reduce the main list of Artists.
