Bug Report: HLS Streaming Problem

Hi,

I would like report a bug with the way that Sonos devices handle HTTP Live Streaming URLs. I oversee the streaming for this radio station URL:

https://stream.jpbgdigital.com/CJZN.m3u8

It includes 4 audio segments in the playlist, and uses this header to indicate that stream playback should begin from the very first segment:

#EXT-X-START:TIME-OFFSET=0

However we’re hearing from listeners that Sonos devices are consistently starting the stream from the 2nd segment in the list and missing the first few seconds of audio. I’ve also been able to reproduce this on my Sonos One.

There is more information on this header within the HLS RFC spec here:

https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc8216#page-36

I’m happy to do any testing to help facilitate a fix here.

Thanks,

Andrew
