I have an older Yamaha receiver, RX-V4600 with a Connect as line out in a system consisting of 3, Play:1’s, and a Port. The Connect with the Yamaha receiver is behind all the other music sources. I found an older thread saying to turn off audio processing on the Yamaha. The owner’s manual gives me no way to do that other than a feature called “Pure Direct” which is supposed to bypass decoders and processors. I have enabled this feature and the latency is still present.Any ideas? Thanks for the help in advance.
I’ve tried wired and wireless but the sonos app does not connect to my Connect. I’m not sure if it is a clue but the LED on the front of the box is solid white all the time. I have tried doing a factory reset and have reset my router but nothing has changed? Can anybody help?? Thanks
Hi all,I just bought a Sonos Boost to eliminate frequent dropouts. I tried to set up the Boost by adding it to the existing setup using the S1 app, but this process did fail with a message that there is a compatibility issue with the Sonos Boost after I followed the process “System” - “Add Boost or Bridge” As much as I understood from earlier articles, the Boost is supported in an S1-controlled setup, so my question is why I can’t add it using the S1 app?It would be excellent if you could help me out.
Beam is offline for some reason.bridge failed-replaced it &updated but cannot see boost or beam or play barreset network several times. No equipment moved. Reset Sonos 1app which then saw the bridge but can’t see anything else.HELP please
Hi folks I have a fairly old Sonos surround system from 2014 (Playbar + sub + play:1). I added a Connect:Amp to power a turntable and listen to it on the surround system. I want to add a pair of nice floor standing speakers to the setup just for listening to the turntable. I am planning to replace the Connect:amp with the new Amp. I presume the Amp allows easy switching between the home theater setup, the floor speakers, and if I want to stream to other rooms (I have Gen 2 Play:5’s in other rooms) or adding other rooms if I am using the floor speakers in the media room? I might end up driving more complex setups as I upgrade some components but this is where I am planning to start.
Hello!I have a question, been struggling with this one for 2 hours, cannot find an answer online. So, i got a Connect from a friend, with the intention to use it like this: RCA line input from an mp3 player and Connect wifi output to stream on a Play 1. Is it possible?thanks !
Hello,I have a Port connected to my Denon Receiver. I am looking to get a Sony Wireless Headphone and I will get a Bluetooh Transmitter to plug into the port as well. A Coaxial plug is for the Denon and the transmitter will be Optical connection. Will I have any issues with this setup? I am tired of waiting for the Sonos headphones. Thanks Tim
Amp is on a table nothing near it. I have it hooked up to KEF q350 bookshelf’s and a klipsch sub. I have tried every combo of running with limited connections and finally with nothing hooked up or banana plugs in and after 20 min or so it starts cutting volume then cuts out and lights flash. I also tried plugging the amp into another outlet without anything hooked up and got the same result.
Hii have a Sonos amp connected to a pro-ject turntable with B&W speakers and cannot stop speakers buzzing. Pre amp is connected to turntable as is grounding wire. Am I doing something wrong?
I am an older recalcitrant user with a system locked at V7.4. I was under the understanding that with Tech Support’s help it could be upgraded to the current firmware version. (Too long a story to explain why I would want to do this) After talking to them and submitting a diagnostic, I was told that the system was too old (just like me). If as stated by SONOS, the hardware will work with the latest S1 firmware/app, why can’t the firmware on any functioning unit be upgraded to be compatible? Thanks for any insight.Diagnostic 1449929490
I recently upgraded 8 of my Sonos devices to “Sonos Amp 2” units. I also have one Sonos Connect:Amp that was listed as compatible with S2 which I have kept in my system. After moving everything to S2, and the Coonect:Amp received its firmware update to S2, the Sub Audio controls in the app for the audio level of the 3rd party subwoofer have disappeared. I have been on the phone with Sonos support, and we tried a bunch of stuff to no avail. The Subwoofer connected to the jack on the back of this unit is still working, but I have no way to adjust the level. Has anyone else had this problem, and more to the point, has anyone fixed this problem?
Hi,I stream music wirelessly through my Sonos Port but I experience sound cutting out after variable periods of play (after 5 mins of listening but sometimes as long as an hour without interruption). My Port is connected to my Totem’s Kin Play Mini speakers through the two RCA cables that came with the Port unit. I checked my router and download speed is adequate (63 Mbps). I’ve gone tru the troubleshooting tests proposed elsewhere on this website (such as restarting the router, the Port unit and the Sonos app) to no avail.Any suggestions?
Hello, I have been searching and reading this forum and did not find any definitive answers. I have an old Sony turntable with an external preamp. Autoplay does not work, as many have stated. I have to always (re)select the Line-in as source. The consensus seemed to be around a pre-amp that is always on. That said, I just ordered an U-Turn Orbit Theory turntable with built in preamp. Has anyone had success with the autoplay on this or other U-Turn turntables with the built in pre-amp? Just trying to set my expectation. Yes, I have autoplay selected for the line-in and for that set of speakers (room). Thanks in advance! <<CROSS POSTED>>
Is a Sonos Amp suitable for outdoor use with Sonos outdoor speakers connected to a Samsung Terrace TV & Samsung Terrace Soundbar?
After a lot of attempts to get good reliable playback on my system, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ll probably only solve the existing dropouts by moving to a tri-band mesh-type wifi network. So I’ve bought one of the midrange products (BT Premium Whole House Tri-band Wifi, three node), and plan to switch off my router’s wi-fi function (which is right at one end of the house and can’t easily be moved) and add the mesh network instead. The question: I currently have a Boost which is more centrally placed in the house, hardwired to the router - should I turn the Boost off once the mesh system is in place?(For completeness, the system comprises three Ports, two Symfonisk speaker pairs and one Symfonisk Frame)
Can I add a turntable and 2 outdoor wired speakers without the AMP. What product would connect these two? Also what non Sonos receivers would you recommend.
Hi all. New to forum and help with the following issues would be much appreciated: Getting hum when connect the Pro-Ject T1 BT to Sonos Amp, which I think might be ground loop, is that possible with this turntable given built in phono stage ? Sonos Amp has no ground post so where and how do I attach ground cable from turntable if this is what is needed to try and stop the hum ? How the heck do I turn off the annoying bleep on the Sonos amp if you press the volume up or down. It’s sound crazy annoying and spoils the listening experience ?many thanks for any advice.
I’m looking for a recommendation on a universal speaker floor stand that can accommodate a Sonos One, I’m not a fan of the stands made specifically for Sonos One as I guess I won’t be able to use those stands for anything else in the future if I ever change to a different set of speakers.
Good morningI bought a sonos amp. I would like to know where to buy the screw to go to the screw thread available below the amp. I wanted to fix the amp on a flexson support.please tell me where to find the screw?
Hello,I have an audio-technica turnable and i want to connect her to my beam 2. I don't now if my turnable it's pre-apmlified. Can i only use a PORT ?Best regards,Sacha
Hi all,I’ve just bought a Boost 2nd hand. It arrived today and when I connected it up to my router the light went solid white, but the app couldn’t find it. I tried re-booting it then it occurred to me that the previous owner may not have de-registered it from their system so I factory re-set it. I’m now getting a blinking green light but the app still won't find it.I saw in another topic one of the agents suggested temporarily connecting one of the speakers to the router, then starting the “add product” process again for the Boost but this hasn't worked either. Can anyone help me get it connected please?
bonjour, quelle est la différence entre Sonos Port et Sonos Amp ?
Whenever someone enables Airplay Require Password on the Apple TV or in the Apple Home app every Sonos speaker in the house blocks itself from receiving an Airplay stream and asks for an AirPlay Password.Airplay works fine to Apple devices but not to Sonos devices once the password is enabled. Disabling the AirPlay password on the Apple TV or Home app has no effect on any of the Sonos speakers. They still ask for an Airplay password. The only thing which seems to fix the issue is resetting each Sonos speaker one by one.Anyone experienced this problem? (I’ve tried calling Sonos but keep getting disconnected case number 04688582 / diagnostics 726588139)
HiTried to connect B&O Beolab 6000 speakers to Sonos AMP. It seems to work, but the volume is loud when using as TV speakers or even Streaming Music. Even at lowest settings (aside from 0) they are loud. Tried adjusting the Volume Limit but wasn’t helpful. Any suggestions? Is it a setting issue? Or something else? And since these are Active speakers, if I turn off the TV, there is still the buzzing noise from the line - it won’t ‘shut off’ the speakers. Any feedback is appreciated, thank you!
Hi, I have two monitor audio ceiling speakers setup in my outbuilding with a Sonos Amp and Sonos sub. The system sounds awesome! I would now like to add 2 additional outdoor speakers to the system and would like to limit the volume of this set independently of the indoor speakers. Is there a speaker pair that I can buy where I can restrict the volume on the speaker itself? I just wanted the ability to have a low outdoor speaker volume.I understand Sonos doesn’t allow the independent control of different speaker pairs… thanks
