Can I power 2 speakers and a subwoofer on 1 Sonos Amp?
I’ve done a few in-wall and ceiling speaker installs using Sonos Amps. Except for when there is an obvious stereo configuration (like speaker on the left wall and right wall relative to a seating area), I’ve been using the Dual Mono option which seems to sound better. I just recently did an outdoor zone that needed some additional power. So I’m using a Sonos Port + third-party power amplifier. It doesn’t seem like the Port has the mono option, and neither does my power amplifier. I’m also using the coaxial output to the amplifier, so I don’t think I could use a third-party mono converter device without having to compromise on resolution. Thought I’d see if anyone has any other ideas for workarounds. Or perhaps someone from Sonos could weigh in if mono has been considered for the Port’s roadmap?
Hello Sonos team. To get right to the point, I have a very specific scenario that meets me quite often where I set up ultra high-end set ups for clients with systems consisting of two separate monoblock amplifiers for their speakers, (one for each channel,) or four separate monoblocks, (two for each channel. Sometimes even more.) I always upgrade their system to connect over WiFi using the Sonos port, simply because it’s the most ideal of your line of products in terms of what it allows my clients system to do. One of the reasons why clients want a port for each channel is to retain symmetry in the look of their system, as well as not having to have a little Sonos port sitting in between two massive amplifiers, as some people simply have their amps resting an inch above the floor. Giving them the ability to switch between either having their speaker play as left/right or mono using only their phone when one Sonos port is used for each channel would be incredibly helpful to these situa
Hello. I currently have a Sonos Connect Amp (S1) connected to my Onkyo Receiver which is in turn connected to my outside passive speakers.how to I update this zone to S2? Sonos Port is 500$ and I don’t need external audio source AND I don’t need amplification. I just need my outside speakers to become a Sonos S2 zone. Is there a way to to this? If Sonos Port is the only way, then shame on you Sonos! There has to be another way right? Thanks for your help.Frederic.
im about to buy a turntable to connect to my sonos system, i own a play 3 and a connect amp. only problem with the connect amp is that its in a central cupboard in the house and wouldn't be able to wire connect to the turntable. Can i buy a gen 1 connect to be able to get the turntable playing through my current system? Would i need to have the S1 app to do this?.
Looking for a solution to automatically turn on my Denon AVR-X3200Wwhen the Sonos Port starts playing. My AVR has a 12v trigger out (which isn’t what I want) and a remote IR In/Out. The Port only sends a 12V “On” signal, as I understand it, so the IR In wouldn’t work either. Are there any other options? I tried setting up something through IFTTT utilizing my harmony remote but the Sonos IFTTT doesn’t work as a trigger. Has anyone gotten something to work?
Hello, I have two Sonos One & one Sonos Play:5 and Sonos Beam in living room. I would like to use these speakers for my home party. The sound will come from my Native Instruments Traktor S4, but my question is – which device do I need to buy to connect Traktor S4 mixer into Sonos sound system? Do I need Sonos AMP, or Connect? Or something other? Master sound will go to the Sonos system in the living room + cue sound will go from mixer to the headpones.
I have Sonos Amp, but also have the problem on an old Connect:Amp. Both are wired, not WiFi. I listen to TuneIn radio. The problem is that playback begins to stutter after an hour or two of playing. The music cuts in and out repeatedly. I'm able to resolve the problem by stopping play, then starting again. The same feed no longer stutters for a long while after restarting. But this used not to happen. Suggestions? Dave
I have a Beosound 8 I’m trying to connect to a Sonos bridge (well I think that’s what it’s called) the app can see the device but no music is coming out of the speakers. I have the cables supplied plugged into the out ports on the back of the Sonos thing. Any ideas?
I have a system with one connect and three connect:amps, no sound plays from the connect. I have them grouped, with audio coming via line-in on one of the units. Which unit the line in is hooked up to (connect or one of the connect:Amps) has no effect on the problem. The connect line out is hooked up to a receiver. I’ve hooked another source up to the receiver’s line in and it plays fine. If I have the line in hooked up to the connect, all units grouped, I get sound out of the connect:amps but nothing seems to be coming from the connect line out. The Sonos app shows them all playing and volume is turned up. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong with this setup? Thanks!!
I have 2 sonos play 1, a beam sound bar, and recently purchased an amp to connect my turntable to my current system. How do I connect my turntable/amp to my existing sonos speakers and play bar?
Hello I am thinking of getting the new Sonos amp to get the sound from my main tv Sky, Dvd etc coming through my main amplifier which are in different roomsI currently just use a old Sonos Connect wired to my main Cambridge Audio CXA81 amplifier, Nas Drive and router which are all together in the room next door, this new Sonos amp would just be connected to my TV in the other room but be wirelessly linked to the old connect Can I please ask? Would the new Sonos Amp need to be connected to my router via Ethernet cable or just Wi-Fi as this is not in the same room as the Cambridge amp? If it does work How would I get the tv sound through the Cambridge amp, by grouping it to one of the rooms which I already have on the connect linked to my Cambridge or buy using line in function on the Sonos app ? Would the new Sonos Amp be classed as its own room or zone and would I then then be able to use it as my main player for my entire music library including hi-res files the connect does not sup
I have a client with a macintosh receiver MA6200 and a ELAN preamp controller for six zones with B&W speakers, but he has to walk between rooms when he wants to up / down the volume or change the music, etc.So he is asking me for a solution that allows him to manipulate volume, source and zone selection from any room of his house, of course he loves his macintouch a nd does not want to change it.1.-Do you have any ideas on how can I resolve this request wit SONOS AMP or SONOS PORT.2.- Is there a way to use the same set of speakers for the Macintosh and SONOS AMP, so I can give him the option to use his old system or SONOS.(he said SONOS does not handle the same sound quality)Thank you in advance
We currently have Sonos in 4 rooms: a Connect linking the main HiFi and TV, and single speakers in 3 other rooms:Bathroom: Play:1 Kitchen: One Bedroom: Ikea Symfonisk lamp. We’re thinking of getting an Amp for another room where there already some speakers working off a small amplifier, not linked to Sonos. When I look at our “upgrade” options: we’re offered 15% on each of our 2 oldest devices.2 questions:I thought there was a 30% upgrade on the Connect - why is ours different? Can the two 15% discounts be used on a single product?
I am really struggling with this one I have just move my ZP120 into my TV room and connected the TV audio to line in on the amp. I am suffering a 2 second delay on audio and it’s pretty much unusable as it is.I have consulted the forums and set audio to uncompressed. I have also set Audio Delay to 75ms from 2000ms but it just won’t stay that way. As I look at the S1 app on my phone I see the Audio Delay jump back to 2000ms. I can’t make it stay at 75ms.HELP!App is 11.2.3 build 57381090Connect:amp is 11.2.3 build 57381090
I was trying to instal a tv outside that is about 50’ from my Sonos amp. The Sonos amp is powering two sonance outdoor speakers. Was wondering what is the best way to get a “line in” into the amp to also play the audio from the TV. But I also want to be able to choose to either have the TV play audio from its own speakers or through the sonance speakers. Meaning I may want to listen to the radio through the outdoor sonance and simultaneously play the tv audio through the tv . Or just play the tv audio with no radio through the outdoor speakers. Would it be best to run a 50’ analog or connect the tv to the amp through a 50’ hdmi arc, or do you have any other suggestions Thank you
I have purchased a turntable and speaker 5 for my husband for Christmas do i need any additional leads or are these included
Hi, moved into a new build home already fitted with Sonos speakers in the kitchen/diner ceiling. Had a few issues with the app and unit, wouldn’t link etc, but the latest app seems to have sorted that. Problem I have now is when I play my dance music, and the volume and bass are ramped up, the speakers buzz and distort. My Wharfdale speakers never did this but I don’t have space for that system now, and also thought that Sonos might be equivalent in quality and tone. I listened to a set up system in Currys and was impressed with that so was looking forward to the system in my new place. Bit disappointed that I have to turn the bass and volume down to middle settings, and after 6 months of use, it’s no different. Any advice please?
Why is it so hard to connect a 3rd party sub to a Sonos surround system? Really strange that the Beam does not have an analog sub-out, or any other feature to connect a subwoofer? The Sonos sub is an overkill to a system with beam as the main component according to several reviewers: So I really think there should be a way to connect a 3:rd party sub, at least by using a Sonos connect. There can not be any technical challenges involved in sending the LFE part of the signal to a connect: Is there some kind of trick to achieve this? Or is there any hope that this might be added as a possibility by Sonos?
Come posso capire se un sonos connect usato da acquistate, è compatibile con S2?
I believe SONOS could have a very popular item by making a SONOS transmitter for TVs.In simple terms take the soundbar electronics and toslink interface and package this as a SONOS tv transmitter. Use a USB interconnect for the power supply and have a nice small package that could fit behind wall mounted TVs. I would like to use the SONOS speakers for my TV but do not wish to have a SONOS soundbar in the mix. This would seem to offer another way for SONOS to bring users to the family of products. If there is something that already does this please let me know.
Hi all,Currently i own an Arc, Sub and two Ones. Altough the Arc and Sub are FANTASTIC for movies, i dont like the speakers/sound coming from the back, especially when listening to music. So i tried both Ones in Stereo with Sub and Arc with Sub for music.. And that kinda suprised me because the Arc's music sound really isnt good compared to the stereo Ones. Does anyone agree on the Arc music capabilities or am i too salty ? Btw im using Tidal “hifi” streaming. Thanks!
Hi Sonos,Please bring Trueplay functionality to the Sonos Port. I think this would significanlty differentiate the Port vs. competing products in the market and for me would make buying the Port a slam-dunk decision in favor of the Port. My 2-channel audio system currently benefits immensely from room correction but I’m looking to streamline my setup towards a Port as the sole source. I’d also happily pay an optional upcharge for such functionality if it was added and sold as an optional addon. Benefit to me would be in retiring an old PC, monitor and software currently providing digital room correction and simplifying my setup. Benefit to Sonos would be an added revenue stream for Port and more sales of Port’s the members of the audio community in similar circumstance wanting to yield better performance out of their 2-channel setups and interaction with their listening space. Would be okay with room measurements being provided via the Sonos app on a mobile phone though I feel higher

Has anyone upgraded from Connect to Port and noticed any appreciable improvement in sound quality (with same source material and speakers, of course)? How about any audible difference between these Sonos products and the Bluesound node 2.0i, preferably using same source? (I would expect Bluesound with Hi-Res streaming to sound better than Sonos)
