wifi is down can i ethernet cable my sonos speakers to a link station *hub

the link station or hub will have no wi fi connection

...can i then use a phone cable to the 5;s and play

spoitfy is that possible or a similar solution if your

internet is down and will be down for some time

but your phone is still on

Do you mean WiFi is down  or do you mean internet?  To play locally stoerd content only a LAN is needed, not an internet connection.

But in any case you could connect your phone to line in and play any audio source from the phone, using the Pley:5 as a standalone speaker.  You have to set up line-in Autoplay first.

Your phone should remain active for calls, but I think you would have to detach it to use it in practice.  It will depend on the phone.
