I can control the volume using my Android app fine. When I press the volume button on the Playbase directly however, it only adjust the volume for the Playbase itself, not the Play 1 remote speakers. Used to work until I moved system to a different house.

It would only control the PLAY:1s if they were bonded as surround speakers. It shouldn’t ever had done so for any “grouped” rooms. That’s been a frequent request here in these boards over the years, but one that hasn’t been implemented.

In general, I think that the current response is correct -- adjust the local room with the local control. I would be annoyed if someone in another room adjusted my Volume. Also, if I was adjusting a local control, there would be no useful feedback that would allow me to determine if the Volume in remote room(s) is appropriate.
