Ever since I paired my Dish Network remote with the beam. The cancel button (on the remote) refuses to work half the time. It only started happening, once it was paired with my beam! Is there a way to UNPAIR it with beam, to see if this is indeed the cause of the my problem?
If you have one available, you could perhaps use another remote and pair that with the Beam instead, it will overwrite your original remote setup - but I can’t think of any reason why pairing the remote with any product, would have any effect on its cancel button?
You didn’t reprogram the Dish remote?
Could be a coincidence, I’ve had a couple Dish remotes replaced for free when I called in.
Keep your request to Dish simple, going beyond “button doesn’t work” is not going to make getting a replacement easier. First line Dish support is very limited and if you venture off their simple scripts they can’t help you.
Thanks for the replies! I already tried using my tv remote with the Beam. So, not only didn’t it override the Dish remote. Quite the opposite! Now, both my dish remote and tv remote can control the beam volume. Gotta love technology!! Guess I’ll try calling Dish next see what they say! I was hoping I wouldn’t have to go THAT route! Stanley_4(hope I got right) , I loved your comment about keeping it simple! I just cracked up about the Dish scripts for support! Made my day!
