TV/Music (turntable) Setup - Wiring & Components Question

Hi, I’m setting up a home theatre and need some advice on wiring and what components to get. I have a sonos arc, sonos in-ceiling speakers (x2), amp, & sonos roam. I also plan to get the pro-ject T1 turntable.

My goal is to watch TV with the arc + in-ceiling speakers. And occasionally listen to music on the pro-ject t1 turntable on the arc + in-ceiling speakers. Not at the same time of course. I asked ChatGPT and it told me to get 2 amps.

Is this possible with one amp? Is there anything else I should get for a TV/Music setup?

ChatGPT should go to class somewhere.

You need a SONOS product that supports Line-In and is not currently being used in a surround setup. A Line-In on a second AMP could be used for this, but you haven’t shown that you have additional passive speakers that you want to incorporate into your system. A less expensive way to add Line-In to your system would be to add a PORT or a speaker such as an ERA 100 or ERA 300 and the RCA to USB-C accessory.

Thanks, Buzz. That’s more clear. I indeed do not have any additional speakers.

I would prefer to keep this more simple, so maybe the sonos port would be the best choice for this setup.

Thanks again!

If you connect your Arc and Amp into a HT Room you would have to disconnect them to listen separately, better to leave them bonded and adjust the sound with the Controller App.

Don't know the Roam but I think it does Bluetooth input, not sure about wired, that might be an option. I'd go Era 100 and input adapter myself.

Or purchase one of the Victrola Stream models, which connect to Sonos wirelessly.
