Are the two speakers grouped in the Sonos app?

Excellent point raised by John B. You should be sending the AirPlay 2 signal to just one of them, and using the Sonos software to ‘group’ them. Sonos doesn’t have any control if you’re using the AirPlay 2 software to send a signal to multiple rooms, it would be an Apple issue in that case.

I have grouped them, but sometimes when using AirPlay the de-group. Anything I can do to fix that?

That is perhaps a network issue. One generic potential fix might be a simple network refresh, by unplugging all Sonos devices from power, then rebooting your router. Plug the devices back in only once the router comes back up.

However, for better knowledge of the situation,  next time they ungroup, submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and network.

That should not happen, provided you send the Airplay to just the one Sonos speaker. Try sending to a single speaker then use the Sonos app to group the other speaker to it.

Depending on what you are playing, if there is an alternative way of playing it other than Airplay, use the other method!
