I can stream Apple Music on my MacBook Pro not a problem. As soon as I want use other speakers (which are visible) and select them, the music stops playing on the Mac, even though the tune continues to stream. I can AirPlay successfully to all my speakers from my iPhone, so seems to be just Mac related. I’m running MacOS Big Sur 11.6. Any ideas?

The MacBook/Mac seems to be known to have Airplay issues, you only have to Google the issue to see the problems and suggested fixes .. there are a variety of things that are worth trying and some sites list a few things to try, see these two links (just a couple of examples) I came across, but there are other sites perhaps worth exploring too:

Hi, I have had similar problems using Airplay on my MacBook using MacOS Big Sur 11.6 with the latest Sonos updates. I observed that the sequence to use Airplay is important. First make sure none of the Sonos devices are in use by other streaming services or devices. Next streaming from your MacBook to each Airplay device (which shows on your MacBook) seemed to work better than using the Sonos App for broadcast to other Sonos devices. Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping the latest MacOS update (12.0.1) was going to resolve the issue, but no. I find that closing and opening Apple Music helps. Airplay then connects with Sonos and streams tunes successfully.

thanks @MJL19 for this feedback - good to know that the new Mac Monterey (12.0.1) Operating System has not broken any functionalities for Sonos - I was more ‘conservative’ and recently upgraded to version 11.6.1. which seems to work fine
