Hi Team,

I am facing random connection drop issues between Sonos app on iPhone and the speaker system. Here is the situation. Everything was working as expected for the past three years but since almost a week, Sonos app on my iPhone dies with the error - No Sonos system found. Opening play.sonos.com on a computer also shows the same error. Randomly after closing the app and relaunching it for a few times, the system shows up again. But it is mostly hit and try.

  1. Have been using Sonos Arc + Siub Gen 3 + Sonos Roam for the past 3+ years without any issue.
  2. Nothing has changed in terms of SSID, router, placement of the system etc.
  3. Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub Gen 3, Sonos Roam are all connected to the router (wirelessly), and the internet is working.
  4. All systems are up and running as expected. All Sonos devices are working as expected.
  5. The iPhone with Sonos app (and computer with play.sonos.com open) is on the same network as the Sonos devices.
  6. Airplay on iPhone shows Sonos system as an option.
  7. Randomly, the system stops showing up in the Sonos App as well as on play.sonos.com
  8. While the system shows up as missing from the App, it still appears under AirPlay. If i try to use it, iPhone shows an error that can not connect to the Sonos system.
  9. While the system shows up as missing in iPhone, Sonos radio, speaker grouping/ungrouping, etc, still work via voice command - meaning the system is actually up and running on the network.
  10. Sonos app (while showing system as missing), gives a couple of options like - did you recently change your network and prompts to update network on all Sonos devices - despite iPhone and speakers being on the same network.
  11. Restarting the router and all speakers usually fixes the issue, but it is not a practical solution as this issue has been occurring every few minutes for past week.
  12. At times, without restarting the entire speaker system and router, the system automatically starts showing up, which is purely random.
  13. The same issue if i turn off all speakers except roam.

Has anyone faced the same issue?

Is your system (speakers and apps) all up to date?

Have you taken any steps to try to resolve this? If so: rather than us suggesting what you already tried please let’s eliminate those and try something new.

Hi @nik9669a thank you for your reply. Yes. When it happened for the first few times, I updated the devices with the latest S2 updates and also reinstalled the Sonos app on iPhone. But that didn’t fix the issue.

# 11 points to a possible addressing issue, use the router's DHCP Settings page to assign static/ reserved IP addresses to all Sonos. Power all down, reboot router and. Controllers then power them back up.
