Sonos amp - where to go next

I currently have Sonos amp paired with kef ls50 and Sonos sub.

My tv is HDMI connected to amp, phono is on line in.

I would like to build atmos setup.

Will I be able to use amp and kefs in that setup if I get beam and two eras? Beam and amp/kefs would be in front and eras back?

Will I be able to listen music only in stereo on amp/ kefs and sub?

tnx :)

Hi @Millann

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

You could use the Amp and Sub with an Arc, Arc Ultra or a Beam (Gen 2) to produce Atmos audio, but you would not be able to add any additional speakers to the system - it would be just the soundbar plus the Amp and Sub.

Any music played would also be played to the soundbar in use.

I hope this helps.

The Amp is not capable of reproducing Dolby Atmos content. You will need at the minimum, a Beam and surrounds. The Amp will not be a part of this setup and should be configured as a different room for music listening.

For the best Dolby atmos experience, consider the Arc or Arc Ultra, which are more capable soundbars.

Well that is completely disappointing.

if I set two rooms I can’t use same sub for music and for movies.

Once a Sub is bonded to a room, it is not easy to swap it for use in another room. You can group the rooms to play the same audio so that the Sub will be included.

First of all - thank you

In that case, I guess, i have to use amp and kefs as surround?

I think I will leave as is for know, without atmos.

If I understand correctly, if I add two play 1 in back, I can have 4.1 surround.

Hi @Millann

Ah sorry, I forgot to mention - yes, the Amp would act as the rear surrounds when used with a soundbar.

I had an Amp plus 2x Play:1 setup giving me 4.0 for quite a while - it served me well! And that was without a Sub, but you will be able to use yours in this configuration for 4.1, yes.

I hope this helps.
