Hello - due to changes in space requirements in our (very small) living room, (and the arrival of kids and all their related paraphernalia!) I have had to replace my floor standing speakers with smaller wall-mounted satellites (Cambridge Audio Min Minx 22) and a discrete subwoofer.

The Min Minx 22 have a lower frequency response of 120Hz so require a sub to fill in for anything below that. I have purchased a sub which will do the job from ~38Hz to ~160Hz, ample for my needs.

However; when setting this all up I discovered that the Sonos Amp crossover settings will only allow a cutoff of 100Hz or less, a good ~40Hz or so below where I would ideally like to set the crossover point.

Presumably this is a software limitation, so I was wondering if others are facing this issue and whether Sonos might be able to update firmware to allow a higher cutoff frequency for the sub output?

I see other similar products on the market which offer much more range in the crossover settings but would really like to stick with the Sonos kit I already have if I can.

Due to location of the sub, speaker level connectivity isn’t practical sadly, plus I’d prefer to let the amp manage the crossover point to avoid feeding the speakers with unnecessarily low frequencies.

As it stands, both the speakers and the sub sound great for most music and by themselves. But there’s a very obvious distracting ‘gap’ in the sound, most noticeable for male voices and TV viewing which results in very jarring intermittent activation of the sub at around the 100Hz point where no speakers are filling in the 100-120Hz frequencies.

Thoughts appreciated!

I ended up picking up a similar amp from another manufacturer. I can slide the crossover all the way from 50Hz up to 250Hz and it sounds loads better with the crossover set at 130Hz.

There are definitely aspects about the Sonos Amp that I miss, but as I can’t find any very small wall mounted speakers that will go down to 100Hz, looks like this is going to be the way forward for now.

Fingers crossed Sonos will listen and allow more flexibility on the crossover point in the near future as I’m sad to have to sell my amps and move to a different ecosystem.

Hello @ajrogue, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I am sorry to hear you’ve moved to a different ecosystem than Sonos, but I’m glad you were able to find one that would fit your needs.

I’ve marked this thread as a feature request and forwarded it to the appropriate teams for consideration.

Used to be able to set the Sub Gen 3 crossover frequency connected to AMP. Can’t find the crossover setting after updating the App.

Question: Where can I set the crossover now? Thanks.
