Some SONOS speakers suddenly started requiring an Airplay password

Hi everyone,

First post here.

I’m having AirPlay issues: out of the blue (I don’t recall doing anything specific) some of my speakers started asking for AirPlay passwords when I try sending sound to them.

I have the problem when sending from all devices (iPad, iPhones, Apple TV) and various versions of iOS 14.

Any idea on how to remove this prompt?

Thanks!

Hi all, just posting my own reply.

Spent c.2h with 2 SONOS reps who couldn’t help.

In the end I had to factory reset the problematic speakers and re-include them. Bug disappeared.

In the Home app on your iOS device, go to the Home Settings. Under “Speakers & TVs”, tap on “Allow Speaker & TV Access” and see if “Require Password” in enabled.
