I was listening this morning when the speakers made a pop/crackle sound and audio stopped. Receiver still plays with other inputs or apple air play. So it’s the port unit. I need suggestions on trouble shooting the port device.

“Pop” usually indicates a hardware failure. You could try rebooting the unit. If that doesn’t help your next step should be contacting SONOS phone support. Don’t Factory Reset without further consult.
