playing cds via Era 300

Excuse my ignorance but I am wishing to play CDs thru a Era 300.

I am obviously required to purchase a CD player but can anyone advise if there is a particular brand that is more compatible with Sonos than others.

If not, is there anything obvious I should look out for in selecting a brand?

i also have a Sonos record deck and am wanting to also play that thru the same Era 300, having previously played thru a Move speaker. Is that possible?

Thank You in advance…..

Absolutely no problems, grab a CD player (not transport), use the analog outputs into the Era 300 using ONLY the Sonos USB line in adapter.

running here at this very moment with a stereo pair of Era 300’s with a NAD CD player

Edit

you will obviously have to unplug the CD player and switch to the turntable, adjusting the line in settings as necessary. Probably a good reason to buy another 300 so you have two inputs available.

Or a simple A/B switch so that both the pre-amped turntable and CD player can be connected to a single line in.

You could also rip your CD collection to a lossless format like FLAC and use the Sonos Music Library to play them from there.

No need to buy a CD player or switch so your turntable can also connect and I find I listen to my CDs a lot more often when they are a click away, rather than having to find one, stick it in the player and then swap it out when it finishes.

My last CD player went out the door here a few years back and has never been missed, it hadn’t even been plugged in for many months before that.
