I have 8 Sonos products throughout my entire house on 4 separate floors. They work great (for the most part) when I’m home alone. However whenever I have a party and have more than 15 people at my house Sonos freezes up, stops playing, disconnects certain rooms, becomes all whacky in general and it’s an enormous buzzkill.
This typically happens when I am streaming Spotify through Sonos, but has also happened with SoundCloud and YouTube Music.
Is this because I’m maxing out the bandwidth on my router? If I got a separate router and WiFi network for my Sonos system would this likely fix the issue?

People are pretty much bags of water. Water absorbs 2.4 GHz RF energy quite nicely. Sonos uses mostly 2.4 GHz signals for connecting.
What you may need to do is beef up your WiFi or as was suggested connect a Speaker to Ethernet and move to SonosNet. The FAQ has WiFi suggestions and SonosNet tips.
I went to wired / SonosNet mode and connected several Sonos back to my router to reduce the problems connecting, giving each non-connected speaker several connection options.
If you don’t have easy to connect Sonos (not Subs or surrounds) you can add one or more Sonos Boost devices to improve your signal situation.

Really appreciate the response. Definitely going to try connecting my Beam via ethernet since it’s the only product near my router. I have a pretty decent router (Netgear Nighthawk) but maybe it’s time to upgrade to something more powerful since I’m running about 30 hue lights and other smart home accessories on the network as well.

I doubt the router is the issue - as you say it’s a pretty decent router. But I think there is a good chance that putting Sonos into SonosNet mode (by wiring your Beam) will sort out your problem.
