Hi! I have old Sonos connect on a NAD amp. I would like to connect Sonos in-wall speakers. As they are passive it should work properly.

Have you tested this configuration? Do you confirm ?

My plan is to be ready to change the Connect to a future Port and Sonos Amp later.

Thanks for the help ; )

I’m a little confused. If you drive the speakers with the Sonos Amp, there’s no reason for the Sonos Port, all that stuff is built in.

It may help (or may not!) to think of the Port as the old CONNECT, and the Amp as the old CONNECT:AMP.

Sonos doesn’t make in wall speakers, although they sell Sonance speakers, which are a good match for the Sonos Amp.

You may want to confirm the output of your current NAD to ensure compatibility with these newer speakers.

Thanks for the answer.

I plan to drive the speakers with NAD amp. Sonos Amp might come later.

I understand that Sonance in wall speakers and compatible (as any passive speakers) with a third party amp. But best suited and tested for Sonos Amp.

Sonance speakers are designed for any amplifier, not specifically Sonos and won't enable the special Sonance/Sonos features.

Sonance/Sonos speakers are tweaked (how we don't know) to enable the special features when used with a Sonos amplifier. Never seen anything mentioned about issues with them when using a non-Sonos amp.

Thank you Stanley.

I'll go for it and as soon as I have saved enough to buy the Sonos Amp, I'll upgrade the setting.

Just to be clear…

If you are purchasing speakers direct from SONANCE (or a 3rd party selling SONANCE) they will not have the special features mentioned by @Stanley_4 . Speakers designed by SONANCE for SONOS will have banding as shown:

Yes, I go for Sonos indeed. Thanks
