I would like to achieve the following with the least amount of hardware, if possible:

  1. Use the Sonos Beam 2 soundbar bundle to connect w/ TV for audio (Family Room)
  2. Add 2 Eras 300 speakers for surround (Family Room)
  3. Add 2 Eras 100 speakers for music (Patio)
  4. Add Sonos Amp with a pre-amp to support a turntable (Family Room)

Questions:

  • Will this setup work?
  • Assuming the Home Theater will work, can I use this to play music from the turntable and other services in Family Room?
  • Can I use this setup to play music on patio, while using HT components for movie?
  • Bonus:  Can I play music from turntable on Patio?

Thanks in advance for your help!

What is the “Beam Bundle”?

That setup will work for everything you have asked, but if you are not going to have passive speakers next to the turntable, you may want to use a Port instead of an Amp. You can configure the Port to automatically group with either the HT setup or patio speakers whenever you use the turntable.

So the port will work instead of an amp?  Still need a pre Amp I imagine from the turntable?

Correct on both.  The Amp is mainly to power passive speakers.  If you don’t need to power passive speaker, the Port will do for a Line-In.

You always need a Phono pre-amp, it can be in the turntable, external or built into a receiver/AVR as it not only amplifies but applies the RIAA equalization to the signal.

Other thing to watch is cartridge compatibility, MC, MM or switchable.
