Hardware volume control

I can’t turn off Hardware volume controls, so when I’m listening to music on Sonos and watching a video on on my iPhone SE 2020, when I try to turn the volume up on my phone it turns up Sonos speakers (extremely loud) I’ve tried enabling “hardware volume controls” on and off but it makes no difference. Any help I would appreciate.

1. Do you experience this in one music service or in all your music services?
2. Does it happened if you try another mobile device?
3. Have you tried force closing the Sonos app from your iOS or Android device?
