Hello please i need some help …

Please can someone tell the correct set up so i can listen to vinyl on 2 x  turntables with a citronic Mk 2 mixer to  sonos connect gen 1 , i have rca cables ..  and have tried many different connections to mixer and amp … no sound i have sonos 1 controller and sonos app  thank you .

What kind of signal is being sent to the first generation CONNECT? It’s entirely possible, that device being old, in tech years, that the CONNECT’s line in has failed, have you submitted a system diagnostic, and called Sonos Support to discuss it? But don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

As an aside, you’re aware of the minimum of the 75ms delay on the line in, correct? It would certainly make the use of any Sonos in a DJ setup a challenge.

yes i spoke to someone today … this is what the said but it a bit confussing to me

The correct connection in the case we discussed about on the phone would be Connect LINE OUT to the amplifier's LINE IN.
If you have something that sends audio signal, then the connection is from that receiver's (turntable) LINE out to Connect LINE IN.
The turntable from THE RCA from PHONO OUT (switch if there's any must be set to phono) to PHONO IN and then from PHONO OUT to IN on the Connect.
Some turntables have a switch for phono and line out, if there's an external phono preamp then we must have the turntable set to Phono.

thank-you in advance

That seems relatively clear to me. Line out to line in. The line in to the Sonos needs to be line level (pre-amped).  Where are you confused?

hi there  there are 2x line in on mixer and 2x phono  as well , the 2x decks go to phono on mixer , and the …...

out put on mixer goes to phono on amp source being phono … i have tried sonos connect 1 out

to network or tuner on amp  but no sound  sonos app is set up and shows line connected to connect 1

There are no line in on amp and line in on mixer but only one out on connect 1 …

It should be relatively simple i no but i thing i must have tried every input

i must be doing something  wrong

The turntables should be connected to the mixer, line out from the turntables to line in on the mixer. Get that working.

Then a line level (something you’d feed to a tape deck) output from the mixer would connect to the line in on the Sonos CONNECT.

Note, you don’t want to use a variable output from the mixer, it really needs to be a line level signal. If you use a variable output from the mixer, like a headphone or speaker output, you’ll run in to lots of issues.

You’ll still run in to that minimum of 75ms delay on the line in on the CONNECT (or on any analog line in on any Sonos device).

Is English your native tongue?

Ah, that’s not a mixer type I was thinking of. Just an amplifier. Let me look more at the image, and get back to you in a minute.

no sound at all with line in on mixer and turntables .. i get sound with phono before ..now no phono on amp  connected to out put on mixer

back of mixer .. yes uk thanks

If the turntables have built-in preamps, connect to Line 1 and Line 2 on the mixer. If there is no preamp in the turntables, connect them to Phono 1 and Phono 2.  Line Out on the mixer connects to Line-In on the SONOS CONNECT. Line-Out from the SONOS CONNECT can be connected to any input on a follow-on amplifier or receiver except a Phono input.

Note that the SONOS CONNECT’s Line-In is not automatically passed through to Line-Out. You must select Line-In as the source. CONNECT’s Line-In can be played in any combination of SONOS Rooms.

OK, here is what I think. The CONNECT would be connected in this manner: line out on the CONNECT goes to the ‘Recorder’ input . The line in on the CONNECT goes to the Recorder Audio Out. That will connect the Sonos to your amplifier.

Two turntables is more problematic. One of them, without a pre-amp, and if there is a built in switch, set it to ‘phono’, is connected to the phono line in on the left. The second turntable, which either needs a pre-amp or the onboard switch, if it exists, set to line, gets connected to CD, Network, or Tuner.

This setup should allow you to play either turntable to your Sonos, and your Sonos streams to any speakers you have connected to this amplifier. Not sure what purpose two turntables have here, based on what I see on the back, this device is not designed to do any ‘mixing’ of audio streams, but perhaps there’s something on the front that is different. In general, mixers would have multiple inputs for phono, so that you can mix the audio streams with both.

Ah, now there is a mixer, not just the amplifier. Ignore my posts, go with @buzz

Thanks for your help  Airgelam

hi buzz there are x2 line in on mixer   ..

They dont say in or out thanks

ps and theres 2x

They dont say in or out thanks

ps and theres 2x

ps technics 1210  no pre amp amp i got above photo

There are only two output jacks on the mixer, left and right. All other jacks are inputs. There is a switch on the mixer front panel to chose Line or Phono input for each slider.

when you say line in as source do you mean sonos controller app

as there is no line option on amp  only network cd tuner and recorder

will both channel line in work with your method

many thanks

Yes, SONOS inputs are selected in the controller. On the controller Home Page, after you have selected a Room or Group, then scroll down to Line-in.

If you don’t actually have a CD player connected to your amp, connect the SONOS Line-Out to the CD input. Otherwise use the Recorder input. (Actually, any input except Phono).

The mixer will send both turntables to the SONOS Line-In.

Thanks so much i will try set up  tommrow and let you no

o no no sound  😫 it did not work
