Connecting turntable to Play:1 pair

I’m trying to connect a pair of Sonos Play:1 to a turntable with a Connect. What am I doing wrong?

The turntable is connected to a preamp, and the preamp is connected to the Connect. How do I get the Connect to “see” the pair of Play:1 and send the music to the speakers?

Start the record on the turntable. Tap on the System tab in the Sonos app and select the Play:1s. Then tap the Browse tab and select the Line-In option.
