Connecting a cd player to Sonos Amp via optical

Hey guys,

I have just bought a Sonos Amp and have connected my record player to it via the RCA outputs, I’m just wondering if I can also connect my cd player? Is it possible to use an HDMI cable from the HDMI output on the Amp then attach a Sonos Optical Audio Adapter which then plugs into the Optical output of the cd player?

I recommend an RCA multi-input switch.
