Connect:Amp Gen 2 and Sub Gen 3

I have the possibility of purchasing a secondhand Sub Gen 3.  Will it work with my Connect:Amp Gen 2 through the S2 app?  Much searching online and I know that the Connect:Amp Gen 1 definitely will NOT work, but unclear whether the Gen 2 will.  Thank you for any assistance.

Purchased the Sub Gen 3 and confirm it works with Connect:Amp Gen 2 through S2 app.

I found this article; it is indeed implicit in the text that the Sub Gen 3 is compatible with Connect:Amp Gen 2, but not explicit.

I would like to have confirmation before going ahead with the purchase ...

Contacted Sonos support and after much deliberation the reply was that Sub Gen 3 should work with Connect Amp Gen 2. If I succeed with buying the Sub, I shall report back on the reality.
