Cannot connect new port to existing system

Hi! Bought Sonos port which I´m trying to connect to existing system “living room” where my Sonos speakers are. iOS app, however, put the port to a new system “living room 2” so there is no connection between the devices. I have started several time from scratch and also reseted the port to factory settings. I am stuck. Any help?

Thank you jgatie. I am sorry but I don´t quite understand your answer. My intention is not to incorporate the devices in different rooms. The app created a new system for the port and therefore the port and my speakers are not in the same system. To my understanding they should be in the same system.

Reset the Port - https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/reset-your-sonos-product

Then go into the app where the other speakers are defined and add a new product - https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/add-a-new-product-to-an-existing-sonos-system

A Port cannot be incorporated into another room.  Room names are just that, names.  Change the name to “Port” or “Line-In” or “Receiver” or whatever function/device the Port is used for.

Make sure you are ADDING the Port to your existing system, not creating a new system for it.

Have a look at Settings (cog wheel icon at top right in the app) and you should see “Add Speaker or Component”.

Thank you. I have reset the port and now a new problem emerged. The port is visible in the app but I get an error message when trying to connect claiming that the button press is not detected from the port. I have reset the port several times, reset the router, reboot the iphone, reinstalled the app. Nothing helps.

Thank you so far. I turned to iPad and suddenly the connection was created smoothly. I connected my cd-player to the port but still looking for right settings in the app. No music for the time being, aargh :)

I am having the exact same problem — the app creates a new system for my port even though I select add to existing system (beam, speakers, subwoofer). I have done all of the troubleshooting steps but nothing works. I don’t have another device to like an ipad to try this with. What was the difference using the ipad made? This has become beyond frustrating for me and I regret the money I spent on this system.

Call Sonos support,  if the other steps above failed they are your best option.
