I have a legacy Sonos S1 system with 5 Connect:90s, 2 Play:1s, a Play3, and a Sonos S1 Playbar.  (I bought the last at a clearance site.)  My original Sonos Bridge has gone out - power supply I’m sure.  Neither ethernet port lights up, and it’s not my Orbi router or the cable (both check out by connecting a computer).  The Playbar is in the same room as the bridge.  Can I get the entire S1 system working by connecting the Playbar directly?  I will experiment tomorrow when the person who sleeps in the room is awake.  I also have a Boost but I think I need it for coverage (it’s a 3-story house on a hill).  If I can’t use the Playbar, can I use one of the Play1s?

Yes, any of your S1 devices, when wired to your router, will function in the same way as a BRIDGE or BOOST, creating the SonosNet signal. Or, you could choose to just connect everything directly to your WiFi signal.

Thank you, Airgetlam/Bruce.  Experimentation has proved this out.  My Playbar is now hardwired to my Orbi system.  It was equally easy (for those reading this) to connect my Boost to an Orbi (but I had to reposition the Orbi for that, so I decided to use the Playbar).
