Any advantages to Toslink/Optical or Coaxial connection for using an external DAC with a Sonos Connect?

Optical has no electrical conductivity, hence no potential earthing problems. On the other hand the connectors can be fiddly and sometimes break.
Coax has longer range and, in theory, lower jitter and error rates.
Choose whichever is more convenient.
