Question

Sonos and Win 10 PC + Logitech Z906 5.1 speakers

Have been running my Sonos system for some years. I usually control it from my Win 10 PC, which is hard-wired to a Zone controller. I have just changed the speakers connected to the PC to Logitech Z906 5.1 and added an ASUS sound card to the PC for good measure. I get sound from every source (browser, iTunes etc) except the Sonos bit which is connected to my PC. All my other Sonos zones work as before.
The installation of the sound card etc. went OK and I loaded the drivers from the supplied CD. When I test the speakers via the Windows configuration app, all the speakers beep as they should.
Would appreciate any ideas where to look next ...

Hi, billybosworth. Welcome to the community and thanks for your post. From what I understand, everything works except the line-out port on the computer? I am not au fait with this particular configuration, but hopefully someone else will chime in. Do headphones work when connected? Have you selected Line-In in the Sonos application?

Hi Edward,
Thanks for your reply. I have actually resolved the problem now. With the previous Logitek speakers, there was only one input to the subwoofer, which satisfied all the sources coming through the PC. The Z906 has numerous (6) input possibilities of which I now use 2. One comes from the sound card (6 channel) and the other from the Sonos controller. Normally the Z906 console detects where the sound is coming from, otherwise you can select the input source manually. The headset (phones+mic) plug into the side of the console and cancel the sound from the speakers when in use. For the benefit of others reading this post, the Z906 has made a big difference to the Sonos experience, which are just for the zone used by my (Windows) PC.
