The Sonos Amp is made to drive passive speakers - passive speakers do not have their own amplification. So yes, you should be able to drive two passive in wall speakers with.
The Amp can be grouped with a Sonos WiFi speaker. Sonos is a closed system, so you need a Sonos speaker.
