Hello,

I’d like to record vinyl via my Sonos amp and am interested if it is possible.

My set up is:

  • Sonos amp
  • Technics 1210
  • Pre amp
  • Macbook Pro

I have vinyl playing through the amp fine (although the delay is annoying).  Can I get an input from the amp into my laptop so I can record my vinyl digitally?

Thanks!

The only outputs that the Amp has, is an output for a powered sub, and its speaker outputs. If the preamp you have has a second output, that would work for recording to your Mac. But as @Stanley_4 suggested, a “Y” cable may be your best bet.

Consider a Y cable on the preamp output and going to your Mac.

Hi both,

Thanks for your help. It has saved me time and money.

The pre-amp has one output. I suppose I only need it plugged in temporarily, so could use the current audio output + something to convert the cable into USB to do the recordings. Then once I’m done, put the audio back into the amp.

Cheers!
