How do I hook my cable box to sonos Amp ?

Amp and cable box are in basement. Looking for sound to be played in outside bar that has wired speakers to the amp
can I simply connect RCA cable from cable box to amp and turn on line in ? Altice one mini boxes do not have rca outlet. Only the main box does. Tried running optical to rca adapter from cable box to sonos amp and just got static



Any help would be greatly appreciated
I'm not familiar with the Altice box, but if it's used for TV, it should have an HDMI connection that works with the Amp.
it has one hdmi port and thats used for the tv already
