I can play a playlist and see the list of songs but can’t see which song is now playing. What am I missing?

I think you are….but which controller are you using? For instance, my iOS controller shows this:

At the bottom of the screen, you can see the selected speakers (A-Master Bathroom One, A-Master Bedroom Ones) are playing Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells (well, technically, they’re paused at this moment, but I could resume at a moment’s notice). I could expand that to the now playing screen, which would also show the album Artwork, with a choice to show my list of upcoming songs, if desired.

The ‘now playing’ screen (note, I appear to be missing the album artwork!) , and the queue screen.

Note that all three show that I’m playing Tubular Bells.

I’m using the IOS controller. Update: “now playing” appears after 5-7 songs have played. I have restarted my router, no change

Sounds like your speakers may be having trouble with sporadic communication with your router. Rather than just rebooting the router, unplug all Sonos devices first, then reboot the router. Wait two minutes before plugging back in the Sonos devices.

If that doesn’t help, check for wifi interference.

Finally, if there is no help from those options, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
