unreliable system

I’ve been a Sonos supporter for 15 years + but I’m totally fed up with the unreliability of it. It’s embarrassing. Have friends over and the system just drops in and out… I’m out… anyone got any other suggestions of a reliable system?

The thing is, it is a reliable system. It just isn’t reliable for you now. So anyone here recommending a reliable system will recommend Sonos. 

If you provide some details, maybe someone can help you get it back to reliability (which presumably it has been, given you’ve had it 15+ years).

As an option, you may want to take a step, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. No matter how old the system, it is still supported.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Offhand I think that you have WiFi signal strength or interference issues caused by the extra human bodies with phones and stuff present. This is a correctable issue, however, if you don’t want to expend the effort, I suggest that you replace the SONOS with a traditional stereo that does not use wireless.

Your profile suggests you have Sonos that can run on S2 and S1 platforms. However, to enjoy the best experience all should be set to run on S2. The only exception is the Play 5 (Gen1) which is S1 only. So, are you running two systems (i.e. S1 and S2) or do you know?
