Can the surround capable portable speakers be a stereo pair when they are connected as surrounds? Then when they are moved will they reconnect as a stereo pair?

Not currently, you need to separate the stereo pair to add as surrounds, then when not being surrounds, the portables are treated as independent speakers which can only be grouped, not stereo paired. To have the portable surrounds as a stereo pair, you need to manually remove them from being surrounds and create the stereo pair, which is the same process for non-portable surrounds.
