When I play music on my laptop I can hear it thru the laptop speakers. When I play music thru the Sonos app no sound is heard on my windows 11 laptop. Has something change with the Sonos app?
Thank you

You have never been able to play the Sonos app through your computer/mobile device’s speakers.  The Sonos app is a controller only, no music actually goes through it.  It is the Sonos device(s) which access and play the music streams, not the app.

How do you have your Port connected? Are you trying to use the Port as input to play to your laptop speakers? The more info you can include about your setup, the better help you’ll receive here.

Will try to explain my setup.  I use a MX990 remote control for my entertainment center.  It is preprogramed.  I did have a connect and then I replaced it with the port.  It worked for a while and then I had infrared added to the system.  Since then I have had a problem - actually several as you see from the post above.  I have my ipad synced to my laptop.  When I hit my sonos icon on the MX 990 the receiver changes and the inputs are correct but when i go to zone 2 the sound is not the music from the ipad but instead the tv sound is coming thru and I did not select the tv.  I think something has been changed from when the techician had come to add the infra red to the system.  I will have to trace the components and see if they are hooked up correctly.  I hope that explains some of the problems I have been having.

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Thank you

What base station are you using with the MX990? MRX 2?

I think you should call the installer back and have them reconfigure the macros because its now not sending the right source with that particular button press. If all the sources are plugged into the same inputs adding the IR emitters to the base station should not cause things to change. But the installer had to select the correct IR port for each device, then save the configuration.

This is not a Sonos issue, its a programing issue that the A/V installer needs to correct within CCP. Make sure he/she checks for an update to the two-way Sonos module.
