Playbase connectivity

My playbase lost connectivity. It is connected via ethernet. Initially I thought the problem was a loose ethernet cable, but after swapping the cable and verifying that the cable was connected to our network properly, I still could not get it to connect.
I then performed a factory reset, but the playbase did not appear in my sonos ap as waiting to be connected. I reset again, and still everytime I went through the ‘add speaker or component’ process in the ap, no new speaker was found. I’ve tried it with the ethernet cable connected and un-connected.
What further steps could I try before concluding that the playbase is broken?

Thanks.

It’s certainly possible, given the age of the device, that the WiFi module has failed. I’d call Sonos Support to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

The factory reset was a bad idea as it lost any diagnostic and also Ethernet doesn’t work any more, but maybe Sonos support can figure something out.

Has the wifi connection also failed, or just the Ethernet?

You can think of internal processing blocks. The WIFI and Ethernet blocks feed a general communication block. You.can ignore a dead WiFi or Ethernet block, but you are out of luck if the communication block fails. SONOS support can help identify the issue.

As previously suggested, don’t Factory Reset prior contacting SONOS phone support.

With Ethernet dead and the factory reset killing the wifi option this will be tough for support as they have no internal visibility. Still worth a call, maybe they can offer options.

Sure wish the AI bots and misinformed users would quit pushing the factory reset as a solution and leaving folks in the hole the OP is now in.
