PCM stereo on Panasonic UB-820 with Arc Ultra

You’ve searched these forums for the Panasonic? As near as I can tell, Sonos doesn’t handle DTS-HD, so you’ll need to change the signal, either in the Panasonic’s settings, or the TV's settings.

Ok with my PS5 but not with my Panasonic UB-820 why ?

In the 820s audio settings set DTS to PCM rather than bitstream. 

It’s done with 820s audio settings and also with my LG C1 with the setting « passtrough » activate and it’s the same thing…

Perhaps the TV can’t pass LPCM. 
 

The problem that it’s work with my PS5 with have the multichannel !

I think the problem is between the LG C1 and the UB-820

My TV is an LG G4. It’s audio settings are set to auto.

Hallelujah! Thanks everyone for the help. Although I had configured the Blu-Ray to output PCM for DTS and the TV to output Bitstream, I missed turning on eArc support on the TV. I guess I assumed all I had to do was connect the Arc to the eArc HDMI port. I was clued in to this TV setting tweak by @GuitarSuperstar’s reply in DTS-HD 5.1 4K discs suddenly no sound. Now my Sonos app is showing glorious Multichannel PCM 7.1 and it sounds great, even if it isn’t quite DTS HD.

Update: on a whim, I went back into the Blu-Ray’s settings and set it to output Bitstream instead of PCM. I still got Multichannel PCM 7.1 successfully.

The last bit is interesting. The TV should report its capabilities via CEC.  Might try mine. 

I forgot the G4 has support for DTS so I couldn’t test it properly but people might want to check they get LPCM 7.1 from DTS-X tracks. It seems to have a slightly wider sound stage but perhaps it’s just my imagination as it’s subtle. 

I have no experience with this TV. In general, I think your chance for success is higher if you disconnect everything from the TV, including the soundbar, then reboot both the TV and soundbar. After the TV and soundbar finish rebooting, make sure that CEC (or whatever it’s called on your TV) is enabled. Next, connect the HDMI cable between TV and soundbar and allow them a couple minutes to share data.

Now you can start connecting other devices to the TV. I recommend connecting a device, then verifying that it works as expected before connecting the next device. Some devices are a big pain because they assume that they should be in charge and they’ll attempt to override other devices. If you discover a device is causing issues, you can add a “CEC Blocker” in the HDMI cable for that device. While this will block some convenience features, such as automatic power-up and input selection, it will prevent the rogue device from interfering with the operation of other devices.

One additional detail: Some TV’s will not immediately reboot when power is removed. I recommend keeping the TV powered down for at least two minutes.
