Are these files stored on an iPad, or are you just using the iPad to set up your Sonos to point at where the files are stored. Two very different things.

Apple closed the ability to store music data on the iPad and allow Sonos to access it. However, depending on your Sonos devices, you can play them using a music player of your choice (not Sonos, but something like Apple Music) and then send the iPads output to the Sonos via AirPlay 2.

Alternately, you could use the controller on the iPad to point to where your musiclives, not on a mobile device, by following the data in this FAQ

Thank you very much for your help/replies, I have now managed to play on Sonos using Airplay.

I purchased the albums on a usb card, I have managed to transfer a file to downloads on my Ipad, which I can now play on Sonos, my next challenge is to try and play as albums instead of single tracks/files.

Regards

Jeff.
