Would there be any benefit in having a 9 band EQ in front of my Sonos?...Definitive Technology powered sub and Definitive Tech Mythos speakers...

It would allow you to equalize whatever you connect to the equalizer's  inputs.

Not the streaming or Grouped music.

Then the equalizer would work for them.

Speakers don't matter as they hook to the Amp outputs not the input where the equalizer would connect.

Great..thanks so much...my question is would it be overkill to have a nice eq in front of the sonos….particularly for my Mythos speakers..??

Depends on your ears, most folks are happy with the built in options Sonos offers.

Also since most Sonos users listen to streaming music or local music libraries they would see no use for an equalizer that only modified the line-in jacks.

Personally, I'd find the sound changes, when switching from line-in to streaming, unacceptable.

Thanks….!!!….I have my own extensive library of music (much lossless) on my line in vs. streaming…
