Does anyone use Sonos speakers for console gaming instead of a headset?

Hi everyone,

I've mostly been using a headset for gaming on my PS5, but I'm thinking about switching to my Sonos setup for single-player games when I don't need voice chat.

For those of you who game with Sonos:

  • Which Sonos speakers or soundbar are you using?
  • Have you noticed any audio delay or lip-sync issues while gaming?
  • Are there any settings that improve responsiveness or overall sound quality?
  • Do you switch back to a headset for competitive games, or is the Sonos setup good enough for most situations?

I mainly play story-driven games, so I'm looking for the most immersive experience rather than a competitive advantage. I'd be interested to hear what has worked well for others.

Unless you can feed the game sound into the TV/ARC input you are going to have to deal with the 75 ms delay.

There is no setting or tweak available, the delay is designed into the system.

Ace headphones over Bluetooth or swapped to a soundbar fed over ARC might be decent, haven't tried it.
