Hi everyone,

I’m setting up a small Sonos system at home and wanted to ask for some advice.

What’s the best way to optimize sound quality and speaker placement in a medium-sized room? Also curious if there are any settings or tuning features you recommend using for a more balanced audio experience.

Any tips from experienced users would be really helpful

Follow conventional stereo speaker placement rules, ear level when seated, equlateral triangle with your listening position.

Once placed and the initial setup is done look at trueplay tuning and see if you like the difference or not.

You have conventional tone and loudness controls in the controller to tweak to your ears.

Personally I put each Sonos on a quality surge suppressor, cheap protection.

If you get Atmos capable speakers make sure your audio provider offers Atmos when available.

If you’re setting up a stereo pair keep the speakers some distance from the front & side walls.  Of course that distance depends on your significant other and your own feelings about how the room should look.  If you are able to put some distance between your speakers and the walls they will image better.

TruePlay tuning worked well for me.  I don’t fiddle with EQ.
